When Karan Johar returned to directing in 2012 with the romantic college drama Student Of The Year, he offered the Hindi cinema industry three young generation stars in the form of Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, and Sidharth Malhotra. And the passionate kissing sequence between Sidharth and Alia became one of the film’s big highlights.
Sidharth had previously stated in 2014 that he did not appreciate kissing his then-girlfriend Alia on television. He then expressed his desire to kiss Deepika Padukone and stated that he would love the experience.
Sidharth, who was dating Alia at the time, was asked in an interview with Filmfare who he would love to kiss on film. Pat was the response “Padukone, Deepika People will hopefully appreciate it. That includes myself.” Sidharth was clearly smitten with Deepika and stated openly that he would love kissing her for a film.
Sidharth was also questioned about his passionate kiss with Alia in SOTY. He also stated that it was tedious. “It felt strange to practise the kissing sequence between Alia and me in SOTY. We had no idea it was that complicated. Many factors had to be considered, including the angles of our lips, head, and nose. It grew boring after a time.”
