Views On the Legend
Actor Ajith Jayaraj’s next film, Krantiveera, is special on many counts. For starters, the plot is based on the life of the legendary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. Second, the Aadatt MP-directed film is South India’s first attempt at a movie adaptation of Bhagat Singh’s life. Speaking about how he prepared for his character, Ajith, who recently wound up his portions for the film, says, “As many as eight movies have been made in Bollywood about Bhagat Singh. When I decided to take up this project, I watched all these films to understand how different this can be done in Kannada. Apart from watching films, I also read many books about him. And I must admit that the part about his execution left me moved.”
Alterations Done
The film team was supposed to shoot key portions in Agra, but due to the pandemic, they made do in Bengaluru and Kolar, instead. “Due to the COVID situation, we are planning to push the release of the movie to next year,” he adds.
Upcoming Project
Meanwhile, the actor will also be seen in the role of Mangaluru underworld don Amar Alva in another project. “We are speaking with people who know Amar to understand the intricate details of his character,” says the actor.
